We hire talented, experienced and knowledgeable doctors, technicians and customer service representatives. All staff participates in extensive training and continual education, and many staff achieve advanced certifications.

Practice Manager

Tammy Spencer, CVT, CVPM has been with AEVS since 2004 as a Practice Manager. Her interests are emergency and critical care medicine along with managing the team and surmounting the expectations of our clients by providing the best medicine and care for their pets.

Medical Staff

Douglas Allen, DVM joined the AEVS team in 2004. He graduated from The Ohio State University in 1988 and did a small animal internship at Sacramento Animal medical Group in 1989. His special interests include Emergency and Critical Care, General Surgery and Ultrasonography while the true reward of the position is the opportunity to help out the patients and owners. He resides with his wife and four children in the southwest Minneapolis metro area. His pets include a lab named Leo and two Burmese cats named Cocoa and Hershey. During time not at work, Dr. Allen enjoys spending time with family and friends and volunteering for a logo youth sports organization.

Kevin Bitu, DVM has been with the AEVS team since 1995. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota’s College of Veterinary Medicine. His interests include emergency & critical care medicine along with surgery.

Jessica Horton, DVM has been with the AEVS team since 2003. She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota's College of Veterinary Medicine and has additional internship experience from the University of Florida's College of Veterinary Medicine. Her interests include emergency & critical care medicine, internal medicine & surgery.

Erica Moore, DVM has been with the AEVS team since 2004. She is a graduate from the University of Minnesota and has completed an internship at Dove Lewis Emergency and Specialty Hospital in Oregon. Dr. Moore is a member of the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Reserve Corps, a volunteer group that responds to animal needs during disasters. Her interests include soft tissue surgery, pain management, and feline medicine.

Rick Yantes, DVM has been with the AEVS team since 2000. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota’s College of Veterinary Medicine. His interests include emergency & critical care medicine along with surgery, orthopedics & teaching.
