Customer Service Representative

Summary of Responsibilities:

Promotes company vision, mission statement and purpose. Plays a positive and active role in fostering team relationships, leads by example and communicates effectively. Must be flexible, cooperative, dependable, responsible, and have good time management skills. This position must be self motivated and be able to differentiate between major and minor issues as they relate to customers.

Primary Job Functions:

Triage incoming phone calls
Greet incoming patients and clients
Create medical records
Manage clients and patients
Present treatment plans
Process payments
Close and fax medical records to referring veterinarians
Balance and close drawer daily
Maintain appearance of facility

Emergency Veterinarian

Relief veterinarians are needed for all locations.

AEVS hospitals are open nights, weekends and holidays and are equipped with an in -house pharmacy, laboratory and state-of-the-art medical equipment. Our staff our skilled and knowledgeable and are committed to providing high quality patient care and customer service. Job responsibilities include managing patients referred by community veterinarians and receiving patients on an emergency basis. The successful candidate will possess excellent clinical and communication skills and be able to manage a diverse caseload. We offer an excellent compensation package including benefits and a generous CE allowance. Board certified or board eligible emergency/critical care veterinarians are preferred for all full- time positions, but not required.

Primary Job Functions:

Receive patients on an emergency or referral basis
Triage patients
Collect medical history; Conduct physical examinations
Establish and execute diagnostic and therapeutic plans
Conduct surgical and other clinical procedures
Direct and supervise all aspect of patient care
Communicate with clients about patient care plans, progress and finances
Write comprehensive medical records
Support the relationship between the local practitioner and the pet owner
Ensure appropriate documentation of controlled drug usage
Supervise support staff on duty

Requirements:

DVM or equivalent degree
Valid license to practice in the State of Minnesota
Computer literacy
Able to work up to 16 hour shifts

Triage Technician

Veterinary Technician

Assist DVM’s in assessment, diagnostics and treatment of patients
Provide nursing care
Perform lab tests on collected samples
Position patients and operate x-ray machine and processor
Prepare animals for surgery; administer anesthesia as directed by DVM; provide surgical assistance and monitoring of anesthesia and vital signs
Provide treatment, as directed by the DVM; deliver nursing care to ensure patient is comfortable, clean, dry, well cared for and properly exercised; advise DVM of changes in patient condition
Accurately record all treatment, nursing care and other patient information on treatment sheet
Assist DVM in performing euthanasia in sympathetic and supportive manner in order to minimize patient/ client suffering; counsel and support client pre / post euthanasia
Assist DVM in maintaining accurate log of all DEA controlled drugs used; ensure prescriptions are properly filled
Clean, condition, repack and sterilize surgical instruments
Assist with animal resuscitation (CPR)
Provide accurate information regarding patient status; reassure and offer compassionate, professional and sympathetic support to clients
Inventory and stock clinic supplies; accurately record items used; communicate needs and requests to Practice Manager
Perform assigned equipment quality control, and maintain accurate logs
Assist in discharging patients, explaining medication procedures and recommend follow-up
Clean patient cages, floors, and surgery suites; maintain tidiness and cleanliness throughout the clinic
Perform clinic "closing duties" according to established procedure, including turning off equipment and machines and activating alarm system; complete cash drawer verfication an secure deposit
Control expenses by exercising care in the use of all clinic equipment, supplies, labor costs and overhead
Ensure safety of front and back entrance areas (walks shoveled, dry floors, etc)
Exercise appropriate professionalism and sense of teamwork in personal conduct and behavior at all times; attend and participate in staff meetings
Maintain acceptable dress and personal hygiene standards
Report for all work hours on time, each day as scheduled; follow establisehd relief staffing procedures
Perform all other duties as assigned
Is willing and able to provide training to new Customer Service Representatives, Triage Technicians and Veterinary Technicians
